When I booked my scuba diving trip to Con Dao, I expected vibrant reefs. And don't get me wrong, they were amazing. But then I saw something on the Amadive dive list: **A Shipwreck Dive**. My heart jumped. This was more than a standard reef dive; this was an exploration into history.

Honestly, I felt nervous. Diving a wreck is serious business. But the team at **Amadive Con Dao Dive Center** was fantastic. Their PADI guides provided a very thorough safety briefing. We discussed safety protocols, the story of the wreck, and what to expect below. The fact we were in such a small group instantly made me feel confident.

Going down was magical. First, it was just a shadow in the distance, then suddenly it came into view. It is massive. It's now a bustling new home, covered in corals and teeming with fish. We saw giant groupers peeking from inside the cargo hold, and lionfish hiding in the cracks. The feeling of swimming alongside this giant, silent vessel is indescribable—eerie, awe-inspiring, and humbling at the same time. It's a time capsule on the seabed.

For any an Open Water diver (or higher) coming to Con Dao and looking for something more the standard reef, I urge you this **dive** read more highly enough. It was the absolute highlight of my Vietnam trip. A huge shout-out to the **Amadive** crew for their expertise and for making this incredible adventure so safe.
